GPS gaps during a recording
Understand missing points, pauses, and broken lines.
Gaps are common indoors, near tall buildings, under cover, or when background delivery is restricted. Low battery, Low Power or Battery Saver, and a phone enclosed in a pocket or bag can make the outage longer because location callbacks and background processing may be throttled. Tam avoids inventing distance across an uncertain interval, so the saved activity may show a broken line, lower distance, or less moving time instead of a guessed route.
What to do
- Check location accuracy, battery level, and permissions.
- Move the phone to a breathable position with a clearer sky view when practical.
- Use an open-sky test in normal power mode to isolate environment from app behavior.
