Plan a route on Map and use it in Record
Turn a planned route into an on-the-ground recording guide.
Map planning lets you sketch or select a route, inspect the area it may enclose, and then send that plan to Record as a guide. The guide helps you follow the intended shape and return near the start, but it does not replace live GPS collection or guarantee territory because the recorded path, closure distance, permissions, and validation determine the final result. You can deviate for safety or access and still finish the loop; the saved activity is judged from the route you actually record.
What to do
- Open Map and choose the route-planning or sketch tool.
- Draw a loop, review the territory preview, and check that the route can finish within 200 m of its start.
- Choose Use in Record or the equivalent start-recording action, then follow the guide while Record collects the authoritative route.
