Choose the right location permission
Why precise and background location matter for recording.
Tam needs Precise Location for a useful route and Always or background location for reliable recording when the screen is locked or Tam is not visible. With While Using, iOS or Android may stop or reduce location delivery as soon as Tam leaves the foreground; if location is denied, the route may not start or may contain no usable points. Always permission does not mean Tam tracks you after recording ends, but the operating system can still restrict delivery when power, device, or background settings are unfavorable.
What to do
- Open device Settings for Tam.
- Set Location to Always or Allow all the time for locked-screen recording, then enable Precise Location.
- If you choose While Using, keep Tam visible and expect background gaps when the phone locks or another app is opened.
