Allow Tam to record in the background on iPhone
Keep location delivery available when you lock your iPhone or switch apps.
On iPhone, choose Always for Tam's Location permission and enable Precise Location. Also keep Background App Refresh enabled for Tam and turn off Low Power Mode when route continuity matters. The exact wording can vary by iOS version; Always is the permission intended for an active recording that continues while Tam is not visible. Tam stops collecting activity location when you finish recording.
What to do
- Open Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Location Services.
- Tap Tam and choose Always.
- Turn on Precise Location.
- Open Settings, then General, then Background App Refresh, and keep Background App Refresh and Tam enabled.
- For a longer recording, open Settings, then Battery, and turn off Low Power Mode; do not force-quit Tam.
